The Wilding Partners programme is at the heart of our work. One of the biggest barriers facing anyone who wants to deliver wilder spaces in cities is a lack of available knowledge and support. Where do you start?

There are trailblazing wilding projects that have overcome barriers and shown the way. But until now there was no dedicated space to access the learnings from those early projects. Or to tap into the latest research and scientific thinking.

That’s the gap that the Wilding Partners programme fills.

It’s a community of practitioners who are delivering urban wilding projects and working to embed wilding principles in their work. It includes experienced leaders who have successfully delivered projects in their communities alongside first-timers and those who need help getting started.

It’s an online hub for knowledge-sharing, capacity building and networking.

Become a Wilding Partner

The Wilding Partners programme is a open to individuals and organisations based in Europe, including the UK and Schengen area, who are involved in urban wilding or are motivated to pursue an urban wilding project. This includes:

  • Built environment and ecology professionals.
  • Community groups, local authorities, nonprofits and businesses.
  • Researchers, policymakers, communicators and activists.

For the purposes of the programme, an urban wilding project is about:

  • Promoting natural processes, wild spaces and healthy ecosystems in and around urban areas (cities, towns or villages).
  • Building biodiversity, climate resilience and other benefits for communities.
  • Reducing human control and management of natural spaces.
